As a former graduate student of Dr. Lin, I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was a brilliant biologist and his wit and sense of humor made him a popular professor and speaker. He was always available to provide guidance and advice to his students and he will be sorely missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Dr. Lin’s passing. As a former student and later friend, it was always clear during our conversations how deeply he felt about his family and watching his children grow. His quick smile and his attentive way of listening when spoken to made one feel at ease. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

As his colleague, I deeply appreciated Junda’s commitment to seahorse and pipefish research. I remember well his enthusiasm and insights at the meeting in Portugal in 2013, and his cheerful support for the upcoming seahorse and pipefish gathering in Florida in 2017. I am terribly sorry that Junda will not be among us in body but we will most certainly remember his dedication and contributions. I send my warm condolences to his family.

Condolences. We will miss, as a friend and colleague, his boyish grin and youthful energy.
