Obituary of Christopher Dell Frederick

Christopher Dell Frederick of Melbourne, FL walked into eternity with Jesus on December 22, 2017 after a courageous fight for his life. He experienced a heart attack on November 30th.. After open heart bypass surgery on December 3rd at Winter Haven Hospital he was transferred to Florida Hospital in Orlando where he spent 20 days in the cardiovascular ICU. He fought so hard to stay alive. He was unable to get off of life support and went to be with the Lord on Friday evening. Chris was born in Hollywood, Florida on January 9, 1955 Jack and Phyllis Frederick. The older he became the more important family was to him. He was blessed with four children, Christopher Frederick Jr. (Lori), of Colorado Springs, CO, Stacy Mitchell (Clark) of Smyrna, TN, Michael Frederick of Portland, OR and Daniel Frederick of Tustin, CA. Children by marriage are Kelly Hambidge of Melbourne, FL and Ryan Chalmers (Kerry) of Ottawa Lake, MI. He had six beautiful granddaughters, Valerie Frederick, Kayla Frederick, and Taylor Ann Frederick of Colorado Springs, CO, Kaylee Mitchell of Smryna, TN, Cadence Chalmers and Camryn Chalmers of Ottawa Lake, MI. He shared his youth with 3 siblings, Jackie White of Pawnee, OK, Robert John Frederick (Lisa) of Port Orange, FL and Kathy Frederick Robinson of Dothan, AL. Chris had a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime. He worked construction, ran heavy equipment and for many years was an over the road truck driver. His favorite job was moving large yachts all over the U.S. and Canada. He possessed a special talent for this particular kind of work. The largest yacht that he moved was 87 feet for a boat manufacturer located in Sarasota, FL. They requested his services year after year saying that he was the best. He also moved the rocket that was on display in front of a school in Titusville for years to NASA to be disassembled. His hobbies included travel, cruising, watching auto racing, riding his Harley, watching movies, riding bikes and walks on the beach with his wife, wood working and watching the stars and planets from his telescope. He was an avid reader. Chris married his wife, Susan, on Friday the 13th of September, 2002. There was never a dull moment. The weekends together were always full of plans when he was home. He was always willing to help with any chores or things that he was asked to do to make his home life run smoother. He had a kind soul and was willing to help those in need. He loved donating to the homeless. He was looking forward to retirement in 2 years. He planned to donate his time building homes for Habitat for Humanity and serving meals to the people who were experiencing hard times. Donations can be made to one of his favorite charities, The House of Hope Food and Clothing Ministry located in Merritt Island, FL. It is a cooperation of three churches and many individuals. They can be reached at 321-453-0318 for donation suggestions. Chris was loved by many and will be missed terribly by family and friends. Those who are born again can rejoice and be comforted knowing that someday we will once again be with Chris in Heaven for eternity. Truly that faith and promise is what has kept his wife together during this challenging time. We want to thank those family members, friends and hospital employees that helped Chris in his final days of his earthly life. The love, care and concern that was given freely was felt every minute of every day. It was a blessing.
