Richard Nichols,65, died July 24,2019, with his family by his side in Indialantic Florida.
Richard Earl Nichols, known to most as Rick was born on October 6, 1953, in Bethesda, Maryland, he was the eldest child to Kenneth and Joan Nichols. When Rick was still little Ken and Joan moved their small family to Naples, Italy, where Ken was stationed while serving in the United States Navy. While in Italy, Rick would welcome his brother and lifelong friend to the family. He was very proud to be a big brother and would eventually add two sisters to make their family complete.
Rick moved to Florida in 1981 and has resided in a little town on the intercoastal called Sebastian until his final days
As Rick grew up, he became a father of two sons and two daughters of his own. Rick was a good father and taught his kids many life skills but most importantly he taught them how to Love unconditionally.
Rick was an amazing Father, brother, son, partner, friend, and a baker of buns like no other could be. He was renowned for his cooking and baking skills. Everyone always knew they would have plenty of delicious homemade food to eat when he came to an event. His recipe for Lasagna and enchiladas will always be a family favorite.
Rick loved to be Outdoors, whether he was working with plants, fishing, camping, or just relaxing, as long as he had his family by his side, he was a happy man. He recently bought a camper and had plans to retire and travel with his partner Lynn.
He devoted much of his time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including his mother until she passed away at age 80. If anyone needed anything, they always knew they could count on Rick.
Rick’s grandchildren were his heart and joy. There’s no denying that, his grandbabies as he called them, were the people that he loved the most. Time spent with grandpa was very special for his grandbabies. Rick once said, “You love your kids, but you fall in love with your grandkids, the head over heels butterflies in your belly kind of love.”
Loved ones that cleared the path for Rick are his father Kenneth Earl Nichols, mother Joan Emma Clementson, and niece Jacqueline Marie Whittaker. Loved ones that will miss Rick until they meet again are his son and daughter in law, Jamin Nichols & Erin Kerfoot; daughter and son in law, Shana & Mark Shanks; son, Teren Nichols; daughter and son in law, Kaila & Ricky Ebner; grandchildren, Deva, Layla, Kirin, Maila, Trinity, Landon, Easton, Denise, & great-granddaughter, Amara; sisters, Linda Whittaker and Susan Nichols; brother, Glenn Nichols, significant other, Lynn Alazraki Siddell; stepsons, Ji Redstone and Justin Traumiller.
