Dear Barbara I heard of Mike’s death but this is the first time I have seen this. I tried to find out where you lived now as I heard you had moved from the address I had. We did remember Mike here in all our prayers. Almost all the elderly sisters you know here have gone to God so I am sure they have met up with Mike now. Perhaps you might connect with me again I did send an email so I will do that again but I am glad I have been sent this as I am so pleased to have a space to connect with you.
I remember the great kindness of both of you when you stayed here and the great opportunity you gave me to tour Europe and such wonderful experiences I had. We still cherish the beautiful glass statue of Our Blessed Lady you gave us. I am keeping well just a few aches and pains of growing old but I keep going T.G . I am sure it will take you time to get used to life again. I hope you keep well. Love and prayers from all of us here. Peggy

To the Devitt family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Though it’s been a while since seeing the two of you, Barbara, I have the fondest memories of both of you. Mike had that crazy funny, always teasing personality that was infectious for sure. I love you, your girls and your grand babies a lot. You all hold a very special place for me and I want you to know that it is with a heavy heart that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Love,
Beth

Dear Barbara and Family,
My heartfelt condolences upon Jimmy’s passing. It’s been a very long time since I have seen him yet, he left a lasting impression upon me. His mirthful smile as he was about to pull a little joke on us as kids and the way he kept us entertained. Back in the day, he would dare us kids to punch him in the stomach. Remember trying it once & hurting my hand. When one thinks back about a person that was in his life, even so long ago and can only remember positive things, that tells you so much about the man. I’m praying that all that grieve him so, find peace.

Dearest Devitt family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. We were so lucky to have known your dad. He was a second father to my sister growing up. He always had a smile on his face when you saw him, and always had a joke to tell to make you laugh. I will always cherish the memories of him when I grew up on Frank st.
Rest easy Jimmy. Peace be with the Devitt family.
