We are very sad over the passing of Oran. He was always helpful and fun. Still can hear that laugh. He sure accomplished many engineering ideas, down to fun ideas with Bonnie, which they carried out together. He sure will be missed. Much sympathy.

I am sad to hear the news of Oran. My condolences to Bonnie and his family and friends. I will miss seeing Buster and seeing what fast car he was driving. I met Buster thru Darrel and Duane Schaff when I was in high school. We shared a love of fast cars. We are both graduates of NDSU Engineering and enjoyed talking Bison Football when we were together. Buster would have been excited to see Bison playing in another National Championship. RIP Buster.
You will be missed by many people that you touched in your lifetime.

I will miss the July visits and the huge grin I’d get out of him about the choice of sports cars he chose each year for the trip. Was pretty obvious who was driving into the farm each year. Buster was so great to my family. My kids always remember going to visit him and having dinner near the beach. We will miss you my friend. Let’s hope the Bison are playing on a big screen in Heaven.

I am really sad to hear the news about Oran. For a couple of years we had been transatlantic counterparts in the big Siemens GT community and he was teaching me quite a lot about gas turbines and (more important) about his rules to survive in a big company. Even more important, I remember one great statement from him: “Not earning the money is the fun, spending the money is the fun.” As I was in touch with him even after his retirement, I remember that his cars were increasing in horsepower every second year, obviously living up to his own rule.
Oran, I will miss you!

Thoughts and prayers to Oran’s family. So sad to hear of his passing. During the big reunion, he came over to us and visited a while. Jeanie McLaughlin, my sister, Nan, (Kathleen Schaff Foley), and myself, Shirley Schaff Salaz .
He made us laugh out loud! He was in the same class as, my two brothers, who were twins, Darrel and Duane Schaff. Rest in peace, “Buster”.

I knew that Oran would be fun to work for when he took me for my job interview at Hooters. He may have been blunt and unfiltered, but he was a damn good engineer. Work has not been the same after he retired.

We are so thankful for Oran and how he was so kind, helpful and loving to Bonnie. He continued to use his many God given talents with all his creative projects and encouraged Bonnie with hers. We had a great time when they stopped in Ohio this summer. We will miss him and pray for him.

We are so sorry to learn of Oran’s death. Lyle grew up with him as neighbors on the farm in ND. Each summer we enjoyed his visit to ND—he always said he had to cone in July when he was assured of no snow! Last year Bonnie was with him and we had such a fun time. This is a sad day.

Was very sorry to hear of his passing and I also visited him recently for lunch and enjoyed the afternoon spent with him. To say the least, Oran was very unique and one of the smartest engineers I’ve ever had working for me. Considered him a friend and he will surly be missed by his many friends and associates.

So sorry to hear of Oran’s passing. I worked with him for many years in Concordville, PA, and Orlando. I’ve lost touch with him since my retirement in 2003. He was a unique, neat individual. I always knew where he was coming from.
