Obituary of Catherine A. Winczek

Catherine A. Winczek, 92, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Melbourne, Fl. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on December 14, 1923 and resided there until 2004 when she moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter. For the past ten years, she was a resident of Century Oaks Senior Living Facility in Melbourne. Catherine worked in the garment industry and was known to be a great seamstress. Whenever a family member or friend needed any type of clothing altered, Catherine was there to help. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Bauman and her husband Joseph Bauman, Melbourne, FL; her grandson Jeffrey Bauman and his wife, Jill, Tampa, FL; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Winczek who died on October 2, 2003. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Wojtowicz and was one of 11 siblings all of whom have passed.No services have been scheduled at this time. The family will hold a mass and burial service in Wilkes-Barre, PA at a later date.
