Obituary of Frank J. Thomson
Frank J. Thomson, age 88, born on September 17, 1927 in Rye, New York to Mary and Kent Thomson, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Wuesthoff Medical Center, Melbourne.
A veteran he served in WWII as a US Navy Seabee.
An active man, Frank was a minor league baseball catcher, had played men’s field hockey – internationally, was a founding member of the Sno Cat Ski Club and a member of the National Ski Patrol. He volunteered in the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department H&L and at Holmes Regional Medical Center. He was also an avid golfer at Spessard Holland Golf Course, Melbourne Beach.
His family includes his wife of 49 years, Carol Thomson; and his son, F. David Thomson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Eleanor Boyle, Evelyn Pastore, Lauretta Hoyt and Mary Jahelka; and his brother, Kent G. Thomson.A funeral mass and burial will be at 11am on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
