Obituary of Eleanor Jean Kim
Indialantic—Eleanor Jean Kim, 98, passed peacefully on Monday, October 22, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Paul Sebastian Kim; her son Ronald Sebastian Kim; and her infant grandson, Brian Matthew Kim. Her late-in-life love of 20 years, Thomas Allen, also passed away before her.
Most of her life was in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, where she was born and where she lovingly raised her family. After her children left, she lived independently until age 96. She was a wonderful cook, homemaker, an ardent card player, bowler, gardener, fruit and vegetable canner, church goer, dog lover and Coordinator for the Young Old Timers.
Her son Paul William Kim and his wife Ann and their daughters, Kathy Beiber (John), Jody Geyer (Chris), Kerry Lawson (Brad) and their children Jonathan, Jillian, Kiersten, Katrina, Riley, Callen, Dean and Ryan supported her beautiful life there.
Eleanor had moved to Florida in 2016 to live with her daughter Audrey and son-in- law Russ. She enjoyed her grandchildren Kimberly Farson (Brian), Ashley Guertin (Brian), and Allison Lovelady (Bret) and her great grandchildren Mackenzie, Carly, Maizy, Talan, Saylor, Kendall and Nolan. She loved the Florida weather and even experienced her first hurricane—Irma!
Her son Ron gave her a granddaughter Deanne, who she also enjoyed on holidays over the years. Her daughter Joyce Fox (Gilbert) of California gave Eleanor 8 grandchildren: Bonnie Ozel (Mert); Rebecca Alvarez (Joseph); Paul Gilbert Fox (Julianne); Joanna Dachs (Michael); Julia Camajani (Joseph); Madeline Fox-O’Brien (Patrick); Mary Fox; and Phoebe Fox. Collectively they gave Eleanor 10 more great grandchildren: Twins Aurora and Sebastian, Celeste, Luke, Max, Joy, Marie, Charles, Henry and Olive. Another is expected Christmas Day!
The name Eleanor means “light”. Eleanor Jean Kim lived a long and healthy life, showing great resilience and strength in meeting life’s challenges. The Family is having a private funeral service.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of St. Francis Foundation, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, Florida 32780.
