Obituary of Jerry Grodecky
Jerry was a man of many hats. Husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. His life was an amazing journey.
From growing up in Newark, New Jersey to attending college at Florida Institute of Technology where he met lifelong friends, played baseball and was a brother of the CHI PHI fraternity. He was then drafted into the ARMY and served his country as a Huey helicopter crew chief. Eventually his love for planes led him to obtain his Pilet license. During it all he worked for Rockwell Collins where he met his wife Debbie of 22 years and retired as a Senior Production Planner after 37+ years. Avid golfer, Gator football fan and a hobby to fish that he passed on to his kids, are just some of his favorite things.
He loved his life, never took anything for granted and was a proud doting husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. Our family was truly blessed and we are grateful that he was ours.
The Winner's Creed
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't;
If you'd like to win, but think you can't
It's almost certain, you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost;
Since out in our world we find
success begins with a person's will,
It's all in your state of mind.
Life's battles don't always go
to the stronger or faster hand;
But sooner or later
the person who wins
is the one who thinks….."I CAN".
A celebration of Jerry's life will be on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront, 2605 N Hwy A1A, Melbourne, FL at 3:00 pm.
