Obituary of James Joseph D’Alessandro
Beloved husband and father, Jim D’Alessandro was born October 10th 1955, and died July 13th 2016.
He fought Cardiomyopathy his whole life, his strange heart fascinating every doctor he’s seen. Despite his handicap he still broke world records racing his Buick Grand National, becoming the fastest single turbo Buick in the world at 7.61 seconds on the quarter mile at 180mph. Father of two children, Marino (20) and Sabrina (18) and husband of Kathleen Mirabella D’Alessandro. Jim was the most tenacious person you could ever meet. Selfless, energetic and fueled by a need to be his own man which he accomplished in countless ways. A man of encouragement, trained and mentored his youngest child Sabrina, throughout her entire athletic career to be a strong competitive young woman. He shaped and molded a clone of himself into his son Marino, showing him all the ins and outs of the automobile industry, which led him to his fascination and love for cars, just like his father. The love shared between Jim and his wife Kathy was unbreakable, it was like they married their best friend, they completed each other through every way of life. A one of a kind love shared between the two, which will be forever missed. Thank you dad, for all the laughter, smiles, tears and light you’ve brought into this world during your 60 year stay. There will never be another James D’Alessandro. We love you.
