Obituary of Donald Joseph Sweenie
Donald Joseph Sweenie Jr., 78, died at the William Child’s Hospice House on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Palm Bay, Florida.
He was born on May 19, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts to Donald and Beth Sweenie. Survived by three siblings Marie Dunham of Pepperell MA, Marianne Nelson of Westford, MA, Grace Cantino of Leominster MA.
Survived by a loving wife of 57 years Susan Ann Jobin Sweenie of Hudson, MA, along with four children Kelley Sweenie, David Sweenie, Jay Sweenie and Karen Lucas; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Don served in the United States Air Force for 25yrs. While enlisted he went to school to be an OSI agent and traveled the world serving his country. He retired as a Master Sergeant at Patrick Air force Base, Florida. Don stayed in Satellite Beach, Florida with his wife Sue for the warm weather. Don continued his career working in security with many companies until he decided to enjoy his retirement; playing golf, fishing, following the Red Sox, the Patriots, and spending time with friends and family.
He will be laid to rest with military honors at 2pm on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery
