Obituary of Robert James Colie
Bob passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was born in Newark, NJ on December 20, 1942 to Robert Alfred and Charlotte Albertina (Kalmbach) Colie. He lived in NJ most of his life until he retired to Florida in 2003.
Bob was a Vietnam veteran, in the US Army, 1st Infantry, 26th Battalion, 1963-1966. He served in Korea before that. He was a patriot and served his country proudly. He served as Commander of the VFW Betsytown Post in Elizabeth, NJ in 1977. Later, in 1981, he became Commander of VFW Post 493 in Nutley, NJ. He was always caring about his fellow veterans.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Steeb) Colie; son, Clinton Colie; daughters, Patricia Colie, Michelle (Patrick) Chambers, Nicole (Jason) Baum, Katherine Colie; sons, Robert, Jr. (June) Colie and Christopher (Carol) Colie, all of NJ; grandchildren Michael Baum, Shannon Chambers and Carlyann.
He also leaves behind his sisters, Kathleen Colie of West Melbourne, FL and Frances M. (Colie) DeLeonard and her husband Donald; and a niece Marie (Kelly) Jacobson of Palm Bay, FL.
Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew this warm, loving and friendly gentleman.
