Dear Grandpa, I remember all the way back to when I first was brought up to Utica by my parents to enjoy the wonderful winter weather and see you and Grandma. It’s sad to think that I barely knew her and the wonderful woman she was to you and our entire family. However, she was never forgotten because she was always with you and part you and we all did our part to remember her. I still remember what you said to me the last night with you in our recent visit in Florida and it has stuck with me because it meant so much to me to hear you say that. Things just won’t ever be the same when I don’t get calls from you on the holidays and when I don’t get your clever birthday cards with your support of my baseball career. You truly are one the greatest people in my life and it’s a shame that we all never got that much time to see you and spend with you. I ‘m going to miss you so much along with grandma. Everyone in the family misses you. Let grandma know I wasn’t too much trouble for, will ya? I love you grandpa, always and forever. RIP March 30, 1927 – April 17, 2014
