Obituary of Judith Hunnicutt Deans
Indialantic, Florida ~ Judith Hunnicutt Deans, 83, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cecil Thomas Deans, Jr., and is survived by children Thomas, Daniel, and Kathleen.
Judith Deans was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to Robert Ayden Hunnicutt, Sr. and Cassie May Hunnicutt. She graduated from Knightdale High School in 1953. After high school, she worked for Carolina Power & Light in Raleigh, North Carolina until she married Cecil Thomas Deans, Jr. in 1956.
Judith was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indialantic. She spent many hours doing volunteer work at Indialantic Elementary School in the health clinic, as a crisis line counselor, and as a docent at Brevard Art Museum. She loved reading and the arts, her poems were published in a local writers’ anthology.
She was a source of wisdom and comfort to family and friends during difficult times.
She will be greatly missed.
Judith will be laid to rest with her beloved Cecil at 12:30 pm on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.
