Obituary of Marjorie W. Leavitt

Marjorie W. Leavitt, 65, of Melbourne, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019. She was born in Old Saybrook, Connecticut on August 13, 1953. Looking into the eyes of this woman, she is beautiful, strong, and courageous. Her life had consisted of crazy journeys to her final days. Marjorie left behind four daughters, Catherine Leavitt, Stephanie Leavitt Waters, Jennifer Leavitt and Tanya Vrtacek; a son, Christopher Alexander; a son in law; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, including more to come, and surrounding friends. She lived her life as if the pain was invisible, hidden. She loved nature and the beauty that comes with it; the yellow roses and pussy willows seemed to catch her green thumb the most, to camping, to having a nice cup of coffee and enjoying the breeze. Marjorie has had a huge impact on our family, she has taught us that no matter what you go through at the current stage in life, live it until you can’t anymore. As she went by Marge, Naunie, and Mom, she refused to let any grandchild call her grandma, typical Marjorie. She always was the family mediator for cookouts, get-togethers or just a phone call. This pretty lady has left behind irreplaceable memories; we as a family will cherish every moment we have had with her. Marjorie always said “after I pass on you better not be in a circle crying about me with family because I’ll haunt you,” her humor 100% defined her beautiful character. She has had a few wishes prior to her departure, we as a family, promise to bring her to everything she requested, including Disney. We love you and until we all see you again, rock the heavens, don’t cause too much trouble. We all will continue to walk your path on this ground.
