Obituary of Vere Francis “Si” Coombs

Vere Francis GÇ£SiGÇ¥ Coombs, 84, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014. Si was born in Garwoods, New York on May 11, 1930 to the late Philip .and Lena Parham Coombs. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at McDonnell Douglas as a planner for 25 years. Si and his wife Jan were owners of the House of Shoes in Eau Gallie for 33 years. Si’s family includes his wife of 44 years, Jan; his children Crystal (Alan) Coombs Erzinger, Pamela (Doug) Burger Connor, Ronald (Vicki) Burger, Craig Burger and Jeffrey (Beth) Burger; nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Philip Coombs and two brothers. A memorial service with Air Force honors will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1903 Croton Road, Melbourne, FL 32934. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.
