Nelson, my dear old buddy…
For over the past decade I have been searching for you on the interwebs.
I think of you all the time. To discover that you have left us is not what I was hoping for today.
Our zany three year friendship is forever etched in my soul. It pains my heart I could not find you. Anyone that knew Nelson was lucky to have done so. We had our ups and downs as friends… we shared so much. Nelson was a jolly, spontaneous and invigorating shaman. His enthusiasm extended to all aspects of his life. He made working a joy for his coworkers everyday.
He was a passionate and loving man. I was in his life when he met Starla. His love was a joy to witness.
Our shared passion for music resulted in endless days of records and tapes being played, all the while singing at the top of our lungs, driving any nearby neighbor nuts I am sure.
He often spoke of his Mother with great love. He had no enemies. He always was there for me and I believe for others. If we ever disagreed, it was quickly resolved with big hugs.
I can still hear you Nelson.
I love you Brother…LUV !
Keep on Rockin’!

Nelson. You and Eddie came into the “Kelly” clan without any of us in charge of the connection. However, we made the best of it and probably would have enjoyed more time together laughing, listening to music and sharing meals together. Probably all the things you and Gay are enjoying as I write this. Peace.

Nelson, my dear Step Brother, we had great fun as kids camping all over the place. You were the funny one who kept everyone laughing. Our family was your family, and vice vera. We welcomed you all with open arms and our hearts were melded together. Even though family situations separated us, just as they brought us together, you held a place in my heart.
I’ve heard great stories of the awesome person you became. Sorry I missed out on knowing you then. It was shocking to hear you were gone , so soon after loosing our dear sister Gay, but for sure her wonderful smile was there to greet you. I’m sure you had a great time reminiscing
I’m looking forward to meet your family as I will join them to celebrate your life. See you again one day. Much love. Kathy Kelly

Nelson you and Eddie were my big brothers. You were always there to listen. We played lots of baseball in Ipperwash while you and Eddie were building up for the big times. I’m sorry that didn’t work out for you and I am sorry we didn’t spend more time together. I will see your family in Florida and I will bring Gay Louise with me in spirit. Glad you are together. Love you Nelson. Xoxoxo. Geri Kelly

Nelson, my funk soul brother. You were a blaze in my life that always burned bright. You taught me music that I will forever cherish. We would talk rock & roll for hours at a time. I can still feel you all around me, All The Young Dudes… you are with me. You were my friend and best man. Always will be. You chose to love everyone so freely, and without condition. Your passion was in your children, music and food. In that order. You lived just as large as you loved, yet not nearly long enough. I will miss you dearly Spadanx, thank you for being my big brother. I can’t wait for the next time I get to air guitar jam with you. Rock on Humble Pie
Always,
Joseph

Neil was one of the most authentic, loving, hilariously real human beings I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He loved deeply and fiercely. I can still hear his voice calling his baby brother and screaming, “JOSEPHHHH” !!! His energy and aura is rare, and was uniquely his. We should all be so lucky to have shooting stars like Nelson to love in our lives. We miss you, always.

My Brother Spadanka, when we were small we’re all about what we could put in our Mouth s n our pockets… u Fat Mammy u called me! We never had much Little Brother, just each other. Life seems to be all about Chapters of Good Bys. This is not 1 I dreamed of. You weren’t supposed to leave before me, you promised. I tried to fend off all the troubles we were both in n yet I always looked up to you. We had each other’s back. Our Friends always asked where is Neil, you were the Headline in our click, laughing n Joking. Each day, month, or year their were more stories all about You! I always wished I was you… So friggin Cool. I just didn’t want your name n you couldn’t stand mine. You had the Band,Hair,Girls, the British Accent as you spoke n sang, you knew all the songs. I asked you 1 night while I was carrying your equipment, if I could sing with you, Eddie you can’t hold my Jock strap(Sorry). I will always carry your Torch with me. We know that you are with Mom, Grama, Grama, Uncle Bob n know your wearing the Robe of Righteousness n watching over your Children n Family. Our Lives will Cross again, leave a Night light on. I miss you, Strength n Honor, Eternal Love Always, Eddie

Nelson was a man that wore his heart on his sleeve moreso as he got older. He dearly loved his daughters
, grandchildren and family . We will miss his laugh, his smile and sence of humor . I Thank our Father for taking him in such a quiet stress free way . To go to sleep and wake up in heaven brings peace to our family. Although we divorced 20 years ago, he had alway remained a part of our family. Praying for peace in your new life Nelson ! We miss you!!

We hope to be able to document our family tree and all the memories we have of growing up with Nelson and share all of it with you girls. He definitely was the most unique sibling in our family with his animated personality, infectious smile, and biggest and kindest heart to everyone who knew him. Nelson was a special man and a wonderful brother that we will all miss. Hopefully, he is free of sadness and emotional pain and is resting with our mother in a better place. Love to all.

So many stories I could share about you, us, our crazy mixed up family! You were the dreamer, the joker, the head banging rocker of the family. You knew the bands, the songs the dates and probably had the album. We would talk on the phone about cooking Cuban food and laughing at his corny jokes. I will miss you my brother, but you will be locked in my heart forever.
