My older brother, that is who you were;
My oldest friend is who you became;
My oldest memory is what you left behind.
So much that was left unsaid, so I try to talk to you a little each day knowing it will never be enough. I miss your big tight hugs and everything that made me feel safe when you were near. I know that you are up there with all our loved ones but it’s hard to not feel left behind sometimes or like my family is now completely incomplete. Life is hard but living on without you is harder. So on to the next chapter we go, taking along the memory of your love, the memory of your life, and the memory of all you aspired to be. I can’t promise to always be strong enough to hold back tears, or to live on happily with no regrets, but I can try my hardest to replace all those unsaid words with the actions of making them reality together with all who are left behind. Until the next time we meet, I will patiently wait for my big tight hug xoxo forever I will love you, forever my big brother.
