Obituary of John Edison Glass
John Edison Glass passed away August 7, 2018. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Glass was born August 11, 1952 in Perry Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. He was the ninth in a line of ten children from Cecil and Anna Glass.
John graduated from Allegheny-Clarion Valley H.S. in 1970. Enlisted in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, he served in many places, including a tour in Viet Nam during the war. After military retirement he settled in Florida.
Mr. Glass was employed for several years by Loral Aerospace, controlling maintenance for airborne radar systems. Determined to remain productive in his later years, Mr. Glass greatly enjoyed driving a dump truck for Atlantic Earth Company, servicing the highway and construction industry in the region. He also liked fishing and was always ready to discuss politics or history with an independent spirit and frank, well articulated opinions.
John was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Glass of Parker, PA and two sisters Nina Rice of Lorain, OH and Virginia Myers of Clarion, PA. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Teresa Gibson (Tess), formerly of Michigan and a daughter, Heather Underwood, who lives near Jacksonville, FL and two granddaughters, Karessa Underwood of Washington, DC and Rylee Underwood, also of Jacksonville, four brothers, Robert Glass of Parker, PA, Carl Glass of Yorktown, VA, Stanley Glass and Howard Glass both of Grove City, PA, two sisters, Bessie Rankin of Franklin, PA and Karen Pittman of New Cumberland, WV along with numerous nieces and nephews.
