Obituary of Gertrude E. Rose

Gertrude E. Rose (nee Stade) 88, of Sebastian, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 15, 2019. Gert was a long time resident of Kearny, New Jersey and upon retiring from the Kearny Board of Education she became a resident of Toms River, New Jersey. She then moved to Saint Simons Island, Georgia and recently settled in Sebastian, Florida. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur Rose, her parents Willi and Marie Stade, her siblings Charlotte Furthner, Catherine Heitz, Alice Rose, Henry and Richard Wachter. She is survived by her sister Helen Lee, daughters Cathleen Fix and husband John of Avon Lake, Ohio, Maureen Kerr of Sebastian, Florida, and Nancy Howard and husband Mark of Saint Simons Island, Georgia. A loving grandmother to Kerry Fix, Kimberly Diaz, Ellen Fix- Hanna, Eric Diaz, Patty Kerr, Lauren Howard and Mark Howard. Loving Great grandmother to Jackson Fix- Mercado, Evan Howard and Bennet Fix-Hanna. Services will be private for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers donation can be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society.
