Obituary of Timmy Perry
Timothy Alfred (Timmy) Perry, a Registered Nurse and Papa to four young grandchildren, died on the winter solstice, December 21st 2018, aged 58.
A man as happy at a rock concert as watching cartoons with his grandkids, Tim was easygoing and content in life, and had a fun-loving demeanor and positive attitude.
He loved his dogs, music, and art festivals. He loved his yard, nature, and being with his grandkids. He loved Caribbean vacations and spoiling his family with resort stays and dinners out.
He loved and adored his wife, best friend, and soul mate Melinda Anderson-Perry, to whom he was happily married for 32 years. They met while on Army annual training in Virginia in 1986 and married December 20th of that year in a modest wedding where their only son, Doug – seven years old at the time – was best man.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island on April 19, 1960, he resided in Attleboro, Massachusetts for twenty-five years, then followed his grandkids to live in Phoenix, Arizona for six years. He left behind well-cultivated landscapes at his Massachusetts and Arizona properties, proving a knack for gardening that he got in his early years working on a farm and as a nurseryman. Last summer, he and Melinda once again followed their grandkids in a move to his final home in Satellite Beach, Florida, where he peacefully passed his last days beside loved ones and listening to his favorite music.
He had a twenty-five year career as a Registered Nurse, which began at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was a Veteran, having served twenty years in the Army Reserves, including a tour of duty during Desert Shield / Desert Storm.
He is survived by his wife Melinda, son Doug (LaCombe), daughter-in-law Colleen, and four young grandchildren, Lucy, Olive, Ian, and Fern.
He was well-loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
