Obituary of Robert Barton

Robert L. Barton, 93, passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017 at home.  Bob was born and raised in New York City and lived in Rivervale, NJ, Fishkill and Poughkeepsie, NY, Burlington, VT and spent his 30 year retirement in Cocoa Beach, FL with his loving wife of 67 years Charlotte Gerard. A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, Bob was an Electrical Engineer with NY Telephone and with IBM.  He received Presidential Commendation for  generous service to his community as board executive to such organizations and the United Way, YMCA, the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce and as a board trustee to Trinity (VT) College.  He was a member of the IOOB. Bob was best known for his gregarious personality, sense of humor, singing and dancing talents and his love for physical activities including tennis and swimming. In addition to his wife Charlotte, Bob is survived by his daughters Laura Soderberg and Andrea Perotti and her husband, Anthony of Annapolis, MD;  his son Robert Barton and his wife, KC of South Hero, VT;  7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
