Obituary of Leilah Grace Geist

Leilah Grace Rochester-Geist, born July 22, 1950, passed on to Heaven on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. She is survived by her sons Sean Anthem Geist, Sr. of Cary, NC and Christopher William Geist of Palm Bay FL; and her daughter Brandy Roxann Mannarino, of Palm Bay, FL. Also survived by her mother, Antoinette Scurti-Rochester, of Melbourne, FL.; Brothers William Rochester, Sr. of Melbourne, FL, and George Rochester of Chatham, NY. Preceded in death by her father, William Rochester, Sr. and brothers David Rochester and Michael Rochester, and sister Theresa Rochester-Alread. Survived by loving grandchildren: Kaitlyn Eve Geist, Alexa Marie Geist, Courtney Marie Geist, Brittany Marie Mannarino and Sean Anthem Geist, Jr. In addition, she+óGé¼Gäós survived by many loving cousins, nieces, dear friends and one lone Aunt, her beloved Aunt Rita. Leilah will always be remembered for her generosity of spirit, loyalty to family, and compassion for others. She was quick with a joke, and always laughed along with others. She loved to oftentimes cook for family and friends, and particularly like to prepare Italian (and other) dishes for family at holidays and birthdays, as well. She also cooked for the many residents she called friends at Lakewood Village, in Melbourne, Florida. And there was nary a game of Bingo missed, which she attended with her mother, +óGé¼+ôNetty.+óGé¼-¥ Above all, Leilah cherished her children and grandchildren most. There wasn+óGé¼Gäót anything she wouldn+óGé¼Gäót do for her kids and grandkids, as her many sacrifices over the years have shown and certainly proven. She gave of herself greatly, so that her kids can have their basic needs met. And when it came to her grandchildren; she continued to give even more, always with her loved ones as the priority, before ever catering to her own needs. This was the pattern she fulfilled to the end. She also loved some of the simpler pastimes, including everything from collecting Lladr+â-¦ figurines, to playing Farmville on Facebook with her many friends. And, she seemingly always had the correct answers while enjoying an episode of Jeopardy, and growing up, her all-time favorite band was The Rolling Stones! She loved Christmas time more than any other time of the year, so it+óGé¼Gäós perhaps both tragic and fitting that she should find eternal peace just hours before Christmas Eve.A memorial service will be held for Ms. Rochester-Geist on Sunday, January 3, 2016.Donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association: http://www.diabetes.org/.
