Obituary of William Anthony Carlson
Tony was born in Coco Solo, Canal Zone, Panama to William and Grace Carlson who preceded him in death. He traveled the world with his parents. As a child he spent many happy times in Nassau with his grandparents and his large extended family.
He leaves behind his wife Renata of 46 years, his two daughters Sabrina and Monique. Tony is also survived by his older sisters Peggy and Jackie, younger brother Jim (Kathy), brother-in-law Mario (Lucia), and sisters-in-law Gina (Giovanni), and Roberta. He was an uncle to Edward (Lisa), John, and Jay. Also two great-nephews Braden and Edward and great-niece Jaycee.
Tony was an air-craft mechanic in the Air Force for 13 years. Then he worked as cabinet builder, postal carrier, car mechanic, and in auto-body repair. In 2009 he was happy to return to working on planes at United Airlines and he stayed until his retirement on April 28, 2019. He looked forward to his retirement so he could spend more time in Jehovah’s service and helping others.
Tony was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, dedicated for some 36 years, loyal and faithful down to his death. He found his happy place at Christian meetings where he served as an elder.
For many years he liked to work out at the gym. When he was younger he entered Power-lifting-competitions. He enjoyed traveling and going out to eat with his wife Renata. He also enjoyed going out to lunch with friends.
He was known for his big smile and generosity. He never met a stranger. He loved his corny greetings and one liners like: “Morning (it’s morning somewhere), “Time is fun when you’re having flies”, “Cut my pizza is six pieces because I can’t eat eight”, “It will be alright”, and “I’m good now!”
Tony–Husband, Brother, Father, Uncle, and Friend was Loved very much and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank family and friends for their condolences, and staying at the hospital until the end.
We also would like to thank the staff at Holmes Regional Hospital for their care of Tony. Also, Thank you to Dr. Soloway and Dr. Ciancio for performing the surgery to remove his cancer and giving us 14 more years with him.
Memorial will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall 3395 Fell Road, West Melbourne, Florida.
