Obituary of Julia Marie “Dolly” Ficarrotta

Julia Marie “Dolly” (Viviani) Ficarrotta, 83, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020. Julia grew up in Englishtown, New Jersey.  She met the love of her life and future husband, Joseph Frank “Joe” Ficarrotta at a dance, while he was serving in the Army at Fort Monmouth.  After his term in the military was over, they settled in Cocoa, Florida in 1956, where she lived for the rest of her life.  She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and Christian, who was always focused on others rather than herself.  She earned an associate’s degree in cosmetology in 1971 and for several years, owned and operated a beauty salon.  Later, she selflessly and tenaciously spent decades of her life caring for her handicapped child and then her ailing husband. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe and her son Robert.  She is survived by three children, Carl, Anthony and Lisa Ficarrotta; three grandchildren, Lorraine Ficarrotta, Tony Ficarrotta and Sarah Sule; a great grandson, Jude Anthony Prescott; her brother, Charles Viviani; and her nephews Carl, Ed, and Scott Viviani. There will be no public services held.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the River of Life Assembly of God in Merritt Island, Florida.
