Obituary of Mack James Nelson

On February 1st, 2015 we gathered to Mourn the loss of Mack James Nelson Sr., 55, father, brother, friend, and companion to many. He is survived and deeply missed by his five children, Chanel Nelson, Ciara Nelson, Mecca Nelson, Mack J Nelson Jr. and Juanita Lomax, as well as his four grandchildren. Brothers Lamar Coaston Jr., Charles Coaston Sr., John Coaston Sr., and Kevin Coaston. Sisters Shirley Taylor, Flora Martin, Lorraine Wright, and Lenora Dorsette all from Pittsburgh. Special Friends Esther Renee Maclin (Atlanta, Ga.) Dionne Coleman and GÇ£Big KevGÇ¥ (Pittsburgh) Mack was born on May 31st, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pa to Juanita Nelson. His parents split at a young age leaving him to fend for himself as a young teen. He overcame many obstacles, surviving homelessness, poverty, and the abuse he received from people who were left to care for him. Willa B. Hester GÇ£GrannyGÇ¥ adopted Mack at the urging of his friend and GÇ£Brother In ChristGÇ¥ Lamar GÇ£ManzoGÇ¥ Coaston into a family that loved him as their own. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served proudly. He held many positions in sales and management, and was an avid builder and construction worker. Mack transitioned from this life peacefully on 2/1/2015 in Palm Bay, Fl. Near Melbourne Beach, Fl. A place he loved dearly while awaiting a heart transplant.Private services will be held in Melbourne, Fl, and a Memorial Service will be held in Pittsburgh, Pa. for family & friends at a time and place to be announced.
