Obituary of Sandra Richardson
Mrs. Sandra (Prothro) Richardson, born on August 10, 1946 in Miami, Florida to William and Mildred Prothro. She passed away at age 71 on July 4, 2018 in Melbourne, Florida, after a long battle with cancer. Her family was by her side as she went to her Heavenly home.
Sandra was the beloved wife of Jim Richardson. She is survived by her sons, Andrew (Brooke) Richardson and Jonathan (Jen) Richardson; daughter, Heather (Steve) Sigety; and sister, Elizabeth Prothro; and eight beautiful grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Sandra had a long career in Education, graduating from FSU and UCF and teaching at several schools in Brevard County. She spent the last 14 years as an ESOL Teacher at South Area Adult Ed and loved meeting and working with her students from all over the world.
Sandy had many interests including: painting, camping, kayaking, hiking, gardening and many outdoor activities. Another passion of Sandy was ministering to children about the love of Christ. She spent many years as a Children’s Pastor at The Tabernacle Church including Pioneers, VBS and Sidewalk Sunday School. And for the last several years she has volunteered in the Children’s Ministry at Centerpointe Church (CPKids) teaching the little ones and Camp Kaboom. She always made sure that she was off during the summer to travel and spend time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Sandy was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She took comfort in her faith and was very active at Centerpointe Church in Palm Bay.
