Obituary of Myron P. Roebuck
Myron Roebuck passed away on July 19th @10:17PM at his residence. His youngest Son Gregory to include Elizabeth “Liz” Taylor, Hospice RN was at Myron’s side every step of the way. Greg named Liz Taylor the Hero of that night as her compassion and care she provided Myron at the end was exemplary.
Myron was born in Logan County, Ohio on July 15th 1924. He was the Son of the late Hugh Roebuck & Carrie Roebuck. He was predeceased by his Sister Donna and his Brother Warren. His younger Sister, Carol Newman resides in Kansas. In 1952 he married Jo Ella Fee in Dayton Ohio. They had two sons, Gary and Gregory.
Myron Roebuck grew up on a very large farm in Ohio. His Father Hugh Roebuck was a well known farmer, businessman, and served as a Logan County Commissioner. Myron served in the 9th Air Force in World War II where he saw most of Europe during the war. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1950 with Accounting & Law Degrees. Myron spent the next 30 years with various Aerospace Companies serving as Senior Executive VP. These companies included Dynatronics (Acquired by General Dynamics) Radiation Inc. and HARRIS Corporation. Upon his retirement Myron consulted with many high technology companies to include venture capital investing. He built the first ultra modern apartment complex on University Blvd where many Florida Institute of Technology students resided.
He loved baseball and Myron made the final cut for the Brooklyn Dodgers Training Camp in Lima OH. Myron was an avid golfer in later life and played with all time great Arnold Palmer in past years.
Myron had a keen interest in World War II aircraft from his service in the 9th Air Force. In the final years of his life he and his Son Gregory would attend air shows and visit hangars where WW II fighters and bombers were displayed. Many of these aircraft were still operational.
What follows are various photos illustrating a partial snapshot of Myron Roebucks life. He will be missed by all and certainly had a great life. Myron, and other World War II veterans to include non veterans of that era are true examples of the greatest generation. Described by Tom Brokaw in his 1998 book The Greatest Generation. A memorial service to remember and celebrate his life will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2019, with a reception to follow, at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 S Hickory Street, Melbourne FL. In his memory consider a donation to Space Coast Honor Flight
