Obituary of Ana Mercedes Fernandez-Villanueva

Ana Mercedes Fernandez-Villanueva, a retired Certified Nursing Assistant, died peacefully at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida on April 27, 2019 at the age of 83. Ana Mercedes was born on August 15, 1935 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Tulio Villanueva and the late Candida Jimenez. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, godmother, cousin and friend. She is predeceased by her brother, Jorge Villanueva and her son, Samuel Bautista Padilla Jr. She is survived by her sisters Lourdes Villanueva, Carmen Alicia Detres and her children, Lourdes Ramos, Bevelyn Ann Ramos, Elizabeth Mercedes Garcia-Padilla, John Martin Padilla and Natasha Nell DeJesus. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Ana Mercedes was a hard working woman who was also owner of Sam’s Deli in Staten Island, NY and had her own child care business. She was a devoted Catholic and dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening, collecting knick-knacks and sharing stories. She had a great sense of humor and leaves her family with many memories that will make them laugh and smile until the end of time. Her passing has touched many people and she will be forever loved and forever missed. We Love You Mom…. Forever And Ever! Her memorial service and viewing were held at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne Florida on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
