I didn’t get to talk too much to Mrs. T, but when I did see her at the basketball games to cheer on her husband she always had a smile on her face. You could tell just by looking at Mrs. T and Coach T how deeply in love they were. I know that no words I say can make you feel better Coach T, but I’m so sorry that you and your family are going through so much pain.

I had the joy of having Mrs. Tassone as my 5th grade teacher. She was the first teacher (and one of the few) who saw my “outgoing personality” as a strength and not a distraction. She gave me my first role on stage as Emcee of our elementary school’s Disney Night. We had ten or so musical numbers from the different class levels and I got to do a little skit and introduce each one. I remember the day she told me everything she wanted me to do and I was a bit nervous, especially with the ten pages of solid dialogue I had to memorize. She worked with me every day though to make sure I would be my best. She never lost her patience with me and made me feel like I was her most important student. It was my first foray into theater which became a HUGE part of my life in my late teens and twenties. She was the first teacher I felt believed in me. I was excited to go to class every single day. Academically it was probably my strongest year too haha. I haven’t spoken with her in a few years but my heart is absolutely broken to hear of her passing. I was so lucky to have her in my life. Rest In Peace Mrs. Tassone. You were just the best.

Maureen, our Moe, you were one of the brightest stars I have ever known. Memories of you are forever etched in my heart. Your love of life and your passion for your family, your friends, and your students was so obvious in the way you lived. You are already missed more than words can say.
I hope all who have known and loved you can find comfort in knowing you are without pain, and happy in Heaven, where we know you are. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers to find peace and understanding go out to all of Maureen’s family and friends.

Mrs. Tassone (I can’t bring myself to call you by your first name),
You had the deepest impact on my life any teacher I ever had. My wish for everyone is that they have/had a Mrs. Tassone in their life to bring out their light.
I may not have seen you in quite some time, but I miss you so much it hurts. Thank you for being YOU, and for seeing ME.

The McMenamy family has been in my life as far back as I can remember. So many many wonderful memories. I remember Maureen running around her house in Satellite Beach, on her tippy toes. She was so adorable. One of the most positive and courageous people I know. My heart aches for the entire family. May she rest in perfect peace. Love you, Annie

I love you Mrs. T.
I’m at a lost of words right now. You meant so much to all of us. Christa McAuliffe wasnt only a elementary school, we were family.
You made me love to read and because of you Where The Side Walk Ends has became my most favorite books, along with videos from School House Rock and being able to be apart of the dove network. You also showed me at an early age my talent in programming and helped me grow and love being apart of Tech-Team.
You were such a kind, caring, loving soul. That always made us feel like your own.
You will be be deeply missed. I love you and the Tassone Family. ❤
My condolences,
Savannah (Young) Moffett

I enjoyed taking care of Maureen during many years at the Cancer Center. Her and her husband were always smiling and in good spirits and usually wearing bright yellow/black Stealers outfits. She fought a long battle and thankfully she was able to reach many life goals prior to her passing. She is now in a place of peace and comfort. Prayer to her family during this time of loss. Jennifer.

I didn’t know Maureen BUT if was like I did. My dear friend Maria O’Neill always talked about her journey with cancer and how proud she was of her strength and optimism. Maria really loved her and always told me how lucky she was to have Maureen as her friend. She also would tell me about their mischiefs and how much fun they had together at school. Maria would tell me how much she made her laugh to cheer her up when she was not feeling well or had to go for test results about her health. They worked together and I always prayed for her healing. Maria always told me about how she fought with all she had. She was not able to be cured totally on earth but now she is cured and healthy in heaven. She definitely was a great example of living life to the fullest and love for others. May she be embraced by God in peace.

You and Alisa were two of my fun friends in High School. Many knew you much better but I just knew MO. You were quiet, funny and when it came to Breast cancer, you were a fighter. you inspired me to when I had to nurse my sister through her fight and I am sure you inspired many more. Miss you and see you every day in little things.

To the family and friends Maureen Tassone,
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one, Maureen. After reading other condolences I can appreciate what a special person Maureen was. These words from the scriptures helped me when I experienced the death of a loved one “And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.” (1 Corinthians 15:26) During this difficult time, please draw comfort from God’s words: “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort.” (2 Corinthians 1:3) Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

My memories of Maureen will be etched in my heart forever. Quite unexpectedly I began communicating with her by mail and text. I told her I wanted to be her cheerleader (promising never to wear a little micro mini skirt). We laughed together and cried together but one thing she never, ever did was complain. I miss her so much and thank the Lord for her family who shared her with me the last miles of her brave journey. As you celebrate her wonderful life my prayer is that great memories will overshadow sadness, joy will overcome grief and comfort that she is now whole and healed will bless each and everyone one of you.
With love ,
Ingrid Shanklin
