Obituary of William L. Taylor
William Luther Taylor, 87 of Malabar, Florida passed away on January 12, 2020 at Life Care of Palm Bay.
Born October 26, 1932 in Grant, Alabama, he was the son of the late Orbell and Laura Lang Taylor.
Luther was in the United States Army 187 Airborne Division during the Korean War.
Prior to his stroke, he would travel to Maryland to spend Thanksgiving with his family and enjoy his passion of deer hunting.
At his home, you could always find him planting his garden or caring for his mango trees. He loved to go fishing at the Stick Marsh.
He would enjoy a cup of coffee and donut at the local Dunkin Donuts in the early morning hours.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 4536 and enjoyed playing pool.
Surviving are his daughter Linda and son-in-law Jeff Mathena, Sr.; grandsons Jeff Mathena, Jr. and wife Lisa, Randy Mathena and wife Casey; granddaughter Dawn Tober and husband Chet; great-grandchildren Justin Tober and wife Brooke, Brett Tober, Delanee Tober, Jeff Mathena 3rd, Sage Mathena, Taylor Mathena and Ryder Mathena; two great-great grandchildren Emberlee and Liam Tober.
He is predeceased by two sisters, two brothers and a step son Robert Heavel.
A memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a service on Saturday, February 8th at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care located at 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, Florida.
His remains will then be going to Maryland for a service with his family.
