Frank Clark

Obituary of Frank Gary Clark

Frank Gary Clark, 83, of Merritt Island, was born in Ruby, South Carolina on October 19, 1935. He passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2019. “Dayday” as his loving family called him, was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Vasco and Eva Rachel Edgeworth Clark, his faithful wife, Lula Ann Wilborn Clark, his older sister, Betty McIntire and his younger brother “Bubba” Clark. He is survived by three adoring daughters, Eva Adcock, Pam Mortland and Tammy Welch; a loyal son, Frank Clark, Jr.; dedicated sister, Maryanne Womack; and five devoted grandchildren, Valerie Adcock, Annalyn Mears, Cody Tinney, Laura Danysh and Brooke Sauer. Dayday also leaves behind four GREAT grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Frank served in the US Navy for twenty years, receiving numerous medals, citations and certifications without a single blemish on his spotless record! While attending Florida Southern college with Eva, then Pam and finally Tammy, he volunteered at the VA clinic in Orlando AND worked full-time at K-Mart in Kissimmee. He also received thirteen State and six NATIONAL awards during his tenure as Veterans Representative for the State of Florida. His natural leadership skills became obvious as a young lad when he was elected President of the Boys Club. They would continue throughout his life as he served as Osceola County Manager, Executive Director of the Osceola Opportunity Center, substitute Teacher for Osceola County schools, and later as the MAYOR of Good Samaritan Village! Our Dayday was very proud of his award for Outstanding Veteran of Osceola County, (TWICE!), being Co-founder, past Chairman and Board member of the Veterans Tribute Museum and active member of MOAA, NAUS, the DAV, VFW, American Legion, Elks, Moose AND Eagles, however, he always said his GREATEST accomplishment was his “three girls” and their families! He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting or spending time with this remarkable, precious man!
