Obituary of Philip Emanuel Richardson
Philip Emanuel Richardson passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2019. He was 92 years old. He’s survived by his daughter Kathleen, son Sidney and his wife Edna, grandsons Keith and Kevin and second son, Steven with a host of nieces, cousins and nephews.
Philip was born on the island of St. Maarten in the West Indies on August 22, 1926. He came to the United States in the mid 40’s and worked as a Merchant Seaman where he learned to cook. He spent the remainder of his career working as a Chef for various hotels in New York City through the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
In 1960, he purchased a home in the Bronx for his wife, Jeannette and children.
Philip and Jeannette loved traveling and fishing while visiting places like Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Spain, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
He retired in 1991 as an Executive Chef and continued to travel with his wife until her passing in 2011.
Philip was a hard working, good hearted man who loved his wife and family and he would often say “Thank God for life!”
We will miss you and love you dad, always, your children.
