Obituary of Robert J. Damm

On Thursday, August 27th at 10:20 AM, Robert J Damm passed away at age 61, leaving behind a wife and five children. Robert was born August 14th 1957 in Passaic, New Jersey to Walter and Celia (Ball) Damm. He served in the US armed forces and retired as a sergeant in 1994, after 18 years of service. On November 22, 1990 (Thanksgiving) he married Sieglinde Blum, with whom he raised a step-son, Michael, and 3 children, Mandy, Matthew and Mark. He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer, from a previous marriage. Robert enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts, often drawing cartoon characters for his children, or making woodworked jewelry boxes for his daughter and wife. He also enjoyed building models of boats and cars. He often went out to Twin Lakes to watch and race his creations with other enthusiasts. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Walter, his mother, Celia, and his sister, Carolyn. He is survived by his wife, Sieglinde, his daughters Mandy and Jennifer, his sons, Michael, Matthew and Mark, and his sister, Susan. A public burial will be held on Friday, October 5th at 11:00 AM at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. A celebration of life, honoring Robert, will be announced at a future date.
