Obituary of Calvin James Bartlett
Calvin J. Bartlett, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016. Born in Dunkirk, NY, he served his country in the US ARMY AIR FORCE and was a fighter pilot in WWII.
After his military service ended in 1947, Calvin moved to Ft. Lauderdale, where he met and married Rosie Sposato. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1951. He was a civilian flight instructor for the AIR FORCE at various bases in Florida and Alabama until 1965 when he joined Air America and flew missions in SE ASIA until the fall of Saigon in 1975. He and his beloved wife Rosie relocated to McAllen, Texas in 1978 where he worked as a private pilot until he retired from flying and moved to Brevard County in 1992. He continued to work part time Security at United Space Alliance until 2009.
He is survived by his loving children; daughter Vicky and sons Donald, and Calvin Jr. ,his adored granddaughter, Taylor Rose Bartlett, his sister Joan Smith, and many special nieces and nephews.
A Military Honors service will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2017.
