Obituary of Wayne D. Harker

Wayne D. Harker, 71 passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in Melbourne, Florida. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he and his family moved to Melbourne in 1954. He was a graduate of Melbourne High School, class of 1965. Wayne enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served during the Vietnam War. He is a graduate from Barry University and was employed with Bellsouth/AT&T for 34 years. Wayne’s hobbies included boating, fishing and anything water related.  The ocean was his passion. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Beverly; son Ray (Sue) Harker, daughter Sharon (Gary) Greenleaf; grandchildren Jessica (Drew), Michael, Payton, Jenna and Josie. He is also survived by his sister Gene Baset, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Ammen Family Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, Florida 32901.
