Obituary of Steven Patrick Dullaghan
Steven Patrick Dullaghan, 86, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 11, 2015. He moved to Melbourne in 2013 from Wading River, NY.
After retiring from many years as a construction foreman, he found great pleasure in teaching driving safety for the AARP. During his years in construction he oversaw the reinforced concrete and steel of many of New York city’s tall buildings, and a Nuclear power plant on Long Island.
Enlisting in the U.S. Navy at age 17, he became a +óGé¼+ôFighting Sea Bee+óGé¼-¥, serving on Saipan, Guam and Tiniai.
He Enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, hiking, and cooked the best steak you could ask for. He was extraordinarily strong, and once swam across New York city’s Jamaica Bay because someone said he couldn’t. He had a very sharp mind for math, often solving complex problems without aid of paper or calculator. This allowed him to be an Excellent card player, with Pinochle being his favorite.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Anna, son Steven P. Dullaghan of Palm Bay, son James B Dullaghan of Patrick Air Force Base, stepson Warren Wilson of Oregon, sister Beverly Corey of Vermont, and five grandchildren.
