May our Lord embrace you and bring you to the place he has planned for you my dear Sister Carol. And may the time of mourning and grieving for all those who love you be eventually filled with the peace and knowledge that the spirt has brought you home. Thank you for your steadfast example of faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In the brief time I knew Carol, I was struck by her gentle Christian faith. I remember a simple statement on a candle in her house that read, “Life takes us to unexpected places, but love brings us home”. What a simple statement of the Gospel; because of living in a sinful world and our own, life will take us to unexpected places; job loss, divorce, relocations, stress, sickness and ultimately death. But the love of God in Jesus Christ leads us home – a place of pure delight, peace and unconditional love. I know Carol had her share of moving around and heartbreak in her life, including the unexpected devastating cancer that ravaged her body, but ultimately God has now brought her home to be in the center of His love. May this simple message Carol has left us speak to us now. Wherever life has taken you, God’s love in Christ wants to lead you home. Will you let him?
