Obituary of Darrell Duane Seegraves

Darrell Duane Seegraves, 88, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28. Darrell was born on November 28, 1931, to Wiley and Essie (Edwards) Seegraves in Pontiac, Michigan, and was the youngest of four children. After graduating from Pontiac High School in 1950, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served stateside from 1951 to 1955. During his time in the service, he met Evelyn Taggart, and they married in 1955 in Berlin, Connecticut. Following his military service, Darrell and Evelyn began their life together in Michigan. Darrell had a 38-year career in the automotive industry, working on the assembly line for General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. Upon his retirement from General Motors, Darrell and Evelyn moved to Palm Bay, Florida. Darrell was a devoted follower of Jesus, and faithfully attended services and supported the ministries of the Church in both Pontiac and Palm Bay. He was also an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, computer games, and playing cribbage. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Evelyn; his daughters, Carole Seegraves and Beverly Blair (Timothy); his sister, Doris Goertz; his two grandchildren, Joseph and Allison Blair; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ralph and Wiley, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum in Titusville, Florida, one of Darrell’s favorite places to visit. A private service will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
