Obituary of Dorothy Leavitt Follet

Dorothy Leavitt Follet has passed on to be with her Lord on January 11th in Merritt Island, Florida. She was 95 years old. Known as “Miss Dorothy” in her work with the prison ministry at the Brevard County Jail, she felt called to assist with bible study and Christian Counseling, reaching out to the less fortunate offering encouragement with Jesus’ abiding love and affection. She was a member of East Coast Christian Center and later of Salt Life Church of Merritt Island. Dorothy was born December 28, 1924 in Mariemont, Ohio, the third child of Warren Ellis Leavitt and Cecile Lepper Leavitt. Dorothy is pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, William Edmund Follet. They were married September 8, 1945 and raised their family of 3 sons in Binghamton, New York. She is pre-deceased also by her 3 siblings, Eleanor Goering, Ralph Leavitt and Lois Hulbert. She is survived by her three sons, John David Follet (Mary) of Camillus, NY; Richard Edmund Follet (Elizabeth) of Palm Bay, FL; and Warren Neil Follet (Claudia) of Merritt Island, FL and by eight grandchildren: Jesse Follet, Heather Mitchell, Kyle Follet, Robin, Gabriel and Bradford Follet, Nicole Dunn and Andrew Follet, and by fourteen great-grandchildren. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy will be buried beside her husband in Triangle, NY. A memorial service is planned for February 1st, 2020, at 10:30 AM at Salt Life Church, 737 S.
