Obituary of Leonard Luther Spangler

Leonard Luther Spangler III Born December 29, 1960 Went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 Len Spangler, 54, of Merritt Island died September 22, 2015. Len was born in Sacramento, California. Theirs was an Air Force family, which meant moving house several times. Len attended high school in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida which he considered his hometown. Len would go on to serve in the United States Air Force himself, as an F-16 crew chief. He also worked 10 years at Kennedy Space Center as a flight line mechanic in the Space Shuttle program. Len earned a bachelor+óGé¼Gäós degree in computer science and with that degree he became senior asset manager at Computer Sciences Corporation where he worked for almost 20 years. Len loved the Lord and he loved his family. As a committed homeschool parent he worked hard to allow his wife, Patti, to stay home and homeschool their 3 children for their entire school experience. Both he and Patti gave their lives to Jesus as their Lord and Savior in August 1989. The Lord eventually led them to Calvary Chapel Merritt Island where they attended and served for 14 years. Len had a huge heart for sharing the Word of God with children, which he did as a teacher in the Children+óGé¼Gäós Ministry. Although he traveled a lot with work, he also loved traveling as a missionary for the Lord. His missionary trips included Nicaragua, Moscow, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Kenya, Ecuador and Peru. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patti; three children: Thomas Spangler of Melbourne; Daniel Spangler of Orlando; and Sarah Becker and her husband, Marshall of Rockledge; and granddaughter, Aurora Rose. He is also survived by his mother, Jutta Reeve; and sister Tammy Williamson; and a large, loving extended family. Len is the son of the late Leonard Luther Spangler, Jr.A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel Merritt Island on Monday, September 28 at 6:30pm.Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary Chapel Merritt Island+óGé¼Gäós Missions.
