Obituary of Robert James Seymour

December 2, 1936 ~ December 18, 2017 Robert James Seymour of Melbourne, Florida was born on December 2, 1936 in Peekskill, New York to his loving parents. Robert was a gentle and caring man who touched a lot of lives in his lifetime. He was a great father to his only son, Jonathan S. Umstead. Robert was a remarkable human being to everyone he met. There were countless people that he helped without ever asking for anything in return. His family included: Father:  Rev. James Seymour Mother: Margaret O’Neil Sisters:  Margaret E. Seymour (Dolly) Virginia Watson Brothers:James Seymour Edward Seymour He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1955 and proudly served during the Korean War. Robert and John’s biological mother were the only ones aware that John was secretly adopted.  Robert did a wonderful job of teaching his son to be a distinguished person and prevented him from having a bad childhood.  He was very helpful in training John to be a good and moral person. As his son, left to mourn his loss, I wish I weren’t so stubborn and listened to more of his guidance while growing up.  I hope in my honoring his every last wish that my dad will, “Forever Rest in Peace.”
