Marcia Falotico

Obituary of Marcia Ann Falotico

Marcia was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 20, 1942.  She attended Miller School and South River High School.  She and her friends would often put together roller skating trips to Twin City Arena in the Newark/Elizabeth area.  It was fun growing up in a small country town after living in the city. Marcia and Frank were married on Valentines Day February 14, 1960 at St. Thomas Catholic Church by Fr. French.  She later sang in their choir for many years.  Their first home was in Spotswood, NJ, later moving to Old bridge.  It was there where she raised her family of three, Francis Jr., William and Dawn until 1971 when they sold their home and toured the National Parks throughout the country to California meeting friends along the way before returning to Old Bridge. They then built a home after seeing property on Pine Street as well another home later.  Marcia drove a school bus for many years.  After a few trips to Hawaii on vacation, they moved to the island of Maui in 1984, building another home; a pole home overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean.  As they sat on the beach thinking about their future, they bought a 43 foot sailboat, entering the charter sailing business.  For almost eight years they sailed together  and took others sailing, snorkeling and  scuba diving.  She especially liked the beach sunset while Azeka ribs were barbequed while sipping a few cool beers.  She learned to swim and take tourists on tours in the water in the Molokini Crater.  For years, this was her “office” as the first mate and skipper. She became an avid Hula dancer and eventually convinced her daughter Dawn to go with her to the dance lessons.  They both danced to many songs of the Islands including “Tiny Bubbles” by Don Ho.  It was a joy to see mother and daughter dancing together  – something they both loved. Her life revolved around family and enjoying the island paradise.  She served as Minister of Communion at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Kihei.   When it became time to care for her parents, they sold everything and moved to Palm Bay, FL, assisting them until they passed. Marcia worked for the state of Florida at the Children’s Medical Services until retiring in 2003.  She and Frank went on many cruises, along with family.  At Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Palm Bay, she served as a Minister of Communion, as well as at St. Joseph Catholic Church,  Her life was one of love and sharing herself with many others.  She also assisted Frank  in his many years of service as a Deacon of the church. Her hope was to see her grandchildren married and have great grandchildren.  Marcia was a person whose love flowed freely; she had many friends who will miss her.  Family was always first in her life.  Her battle with cancer lasted about 15 years; she fought the fight and won up until now when it was tine to go home.  Her family in Heaven includes her parents Stephen & Julia Zarachansky Behun and sister Janice Nash. She leaves her earthly family including her husband Francis Edward Falotico, Sr.; daughter Dawn Marie Burkett, sons Francis Edward Falotico, Jr., and William Michael Falotico; grandchildren Stephen, Nicholas, Christopher, Shannon, William Jr., now have their own special Saint to watch over them.  Marcia, enjoy your family in Heaven and one day when it is our time to be called home we will be together again.  God’s love and blessings for a safe journey.  We love and miss you and you will be in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock Street, NE, Palm Bay, FL at 1:00 pm.  Her final resting place will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 Highway 1, Mims, FL on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 9:00 am. ALOHA SWEET LADY
