Obituary of Charles Michael Swartwout

Charles Michael Swartwout, Sr. age 76, of Cape Canaveral, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Rockledge Regional Medical Center. Charles was born on July 27, 1942 in New York, New York to Valentine and Mary (Hylas) Swartwout. Charles grew up in Congers, New York. He joined the United States Navy in 1960 and proudly served on the USS Patrick Henry (SSBN 599). He spent most of his adult life in the San Francisco Bay area before moving and settling in Cape Canaveral, FL. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sheridan L. Meyer. He is also survived by his son, Charles Swartwout, Jr.; and daughters, Christine and Stephanie Swartwout. In lieu of a memorial service, his cremated remains will be sent to the Navy for burial at sea.
