Obituary of Michael Russell Meyers

+é-á+é-á Michael +óGé¼+ôMickey+óGé¼-¥ Meyers went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 1, 2015 at the age of 68. +é-áHe was born in Manlius, NY, to Richard Meyers Sr. and Dorothy (Buell) Meyers. +é-á+é-á+é-á Mike lived in Durhamville, NY, until 1989. +é-áDuring his years there, he was an active member of the Durhamville Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1974-1989. +é-áHe also volunteered with North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corp (NAVAC) from 1974-1986 and worked part time for Campbell Dean Ambulance in Oneida, NY, as an EMT from 1977-1989. +é-áIn 1989, he moved his family to Palm Bay, FL. +é-á+é-á+é-áIn 2003, Mike retired from US Airways after 34 years in the airline industry. +é-áHe then went to work for Florida+óGé¼Gäós Blood Centers as a Donor Development Coordinator, where he worked for seven years until retiring for a second time in 2010. Mike was also very proud to be a 28 gallon blood donor. +é-á+é-á+é-á He has been an active member of CenterPointe Church since 2002 and, for the past five years, he volunteered each week with the church+óGé¼Gäós food pantry which was near and dear to his heart. +é-áHe also volunteered at the Cold Night Shelter with His Place Ministries. +é-á+é-á+é-á Mike was a kind, caring, and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. +é-áHe loved his family and will always be remembered for his smiling face and happy, positive attitude and, most importantly, his desire to serve others. A loving family man, Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vicki (Beers) Meyers, and three children: sons Scott, and his children Joshua and Brandon; Thomas, his children Reagan and Emerson and Thomas+óGé¼Gäó girlfriend Brandy Vanderwerken and her children Matthew and Zachary; and daughter Kristen Page and her husband Matthew. +é-áMike is also survived by his extended family including his mother; 3 brothers: John (Kathy) of Palm Bay, FL, George (Shelley) of Oneida, NY, and Dennis of Huntersville, NC; 5 sisters: Rose Mackey (Duncan) of Canastota, NY, Norma Molampy of Murray, KY, Sandra Leonard of Durhamville, NY, Kathy Linton (Daniel) of Murray, KY, and Betsy Carter of Oneida, NY and 23 nieces and nephews. Mike is predeceased by his father and brother, Richard +óGé¼+ôButch+óGé¼-¥ Meyers, Jr.A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 3:30 pm at CenterPointe Church in Palm Bay, FL.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the food pantry at CenterPointe Church, 891 Coply St. SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909 or online at www.cpchurch.net.
