Wanda, while I never knew your dad, I know everything important about him through the selfless life you have lived. I will be praying for you and your family as you grieve this truly great loss.

My father Doyle Dempsey and Speedy were best friends in school here in Cocoa. I grew up hearing stories about his best friend Speedy Harrell and all the fun things they did together. Dad thought a great deal of Speedy. Dad passed away in 2007 and I moved mom in with me. We retired to Merritt Island . She was delighted to run into Speedy at the Florida Historical Society and renew that friendship. They spent time talking about my dad and growing up in Cocoa. I lost mom last Oct.
I am so sorry for your loss. Speedy had great stories to tell and was wonderful with the Mosquito Beaters. There will never be another one like him.
