Obituary of Loraine Fitzgerald
Loraine Fitzgerald, 61, a long time resident of Middletown, NY passed away on Thursday, December 13th at her home in Melbourne, FL. Surrounded by her loving family after a courageous year long battle with brain cancer.
Loraine was born on Saturday November 23, 1957 in Middletown, NY to Arthur Dassori and Jeanette (Freeman) Dassori. Children born on a Saturday mean you are destined to be a hard worker and possess honesty, Loraine exceeded at both.
An Orange County CC graduate, Loraine worked for 25 years in the Horton Hospital Blood Bank and also The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. She received many accolades for her work throughout the years ans was admired greatly by her coworkers.
She was always busy learning new things and always was a good teacher and would help others however she could. She loved to cook, bake, garden, hike, take yoga classes and most important of all spend time with her family.
On October 9, 1982 she married the love of her life Patrick Fitzgerald, who survives her along with her daughters Vanessa and Annette, who she was always so proud of.
Loraine shall always be remembered for her smiling face, happy disposition and tie dye shirts. She was a friend to everyone and she chose to see the good in people not the bad. She had many furry friends throughout the years as animals just like people were drawn to her. Squirty the cat will miss her terribly.
Services were private at her request. The family requests that you make a donation to your local animal shelter in lieu of sending flowers to the house. Loraine always said to send her flowers while she was alive so she could enjoy them.
Until we see you again some day, we will have to rely on the wonderful memories of a life well lived that you leave us with. If you ever met Loraine in your lifetime consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
