Obituary of Margaret C. Mackiewicz
Margaret Mackiewicz, 88, joined her beloved husband, Chester B. Mackiewicz, on February 19, 2020. She passed peacefully at Cape Canaveral Hospital, FL surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was one of seven children. She was born on June 19, 1931, in New Britain, CT to Stephen and Anna Cesanek. She attended New Britain High School.
Margaret met the love of her life, Chet, in 1949. They later married and had a wonderful 62 years of marriage together. They lived in New Britain before moving to Bristol where they were blessed with and raised four children. Along with being a sweet, loving mother and wife, she worked many years as a cashier at Food Mart.
In 2002 Margaret and Chet moved to Rockledge, FL and together they met great friends and enjoyed their many visits from family and friends. When her husband Chet passed in 2015 she moved to Cape Canaveral, FL to be closer to her family. She was a devout Roman Catholic and attended church regularly.
She leaves behind her four children, Diane and her husband Austin DellaVecchia, Gary Mackiewicz and his wife Patti, Nancy and her husband Marco Conrod, and Paula and (predeceased husband) Tom Ryan. She also leaves her 10 adoring grandchildren, Gary, Lidia, Trey, Kelly, Tommy, Mark, David, Stephen, John and Kevin. Margaret also had great love and joy for her 7 great grandchildren, Damian, Parker, Kinsley, Leona, Kiley, Harper and the newest edition Tommy. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Yaglowski.
Margaret will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. We will forever cherish her life, memory and legacy of love.
Services will be Saturday, February 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviors Catholic Church, 5301 North Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL. Burial will be arranged at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, where she will forever join her love, Chet.
