Obituary of Richard “Rick” Bruce Maynard

On Friday, February 21, 2020 Richard “Rick” Bruce Maynard of Melbourne, Florida passed away at the age of 59. Rick was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up moving many times while his father served in the Air Force. He attended Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. After high school, Rick joined the United States Air Force where he served for almost 4 years. He later moved to Melbourne, Florida and became a roofing contractor. He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing and socializing. Rick never met a stranger and often stopped to help others in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. His father, Colonel Harry L. Maynard, and his mother, Marie, precede Richard in death. His daughter, Chelsie Morgan, son-in-law Casey, grandsons, David, John and Luke; his sister, Susan Maynard; his brother, Harry Maynard, sister-in-law Carol, nephew Jacob, and niece Catherine as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins in Florida, Colorado, Texas, Arkansas, and Ohio survive him. Richard Bruce Maynard will be laid to rest with military honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on a date to be determined.
