Obituary of Walter Edward Collins

Walter E. Collins passed away Wed. Jan 23, 2019. He was born in Ironton, Ohio on Sept. 18, 1932 son of Edward Grant and Catherine Mae (Cripple) Collins and was a life-long Buckeye! He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Maureen Collins. He is also survived by his son Steve Collins and his daughters Debbie (Kelly) Claudson and Donna Lee Collins. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Collins. He was also predeceased by his son, Ronald Collins. Also left to mourn his passing are his step-children, Don (Therese) Wojnowski, Jr., Robert Wojnowski, Pete (Rhonda) Wojnowski and Lisa Phillips. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He lived life to the fullest enjoying fishing, cruising, traveling in his RV, visiting casinos, a rowdy family game of scat and watching his beloved Orlando Magic. Thanks to Hospice of St. Francis and staff for their loving care in his final days. Special thanks for the care he received during the past 10+ years from Dr. Guiseppe Palmero and Health First staff, especially Dr. David Trevino and Dr. Khalid Sheikh. Also BCFD #29 “The Guardian of the Groves” provided valuable assistance any time we were in need. His family will be accepting friends at his viewing between the hours of 11:00 a.m. ~ 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019 with his service immediately following starting at 1:00 p.m. at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne.
